Dr. Steven Nelson

Dr. Nelson is a Wyoming and New Mexico-licensed psychologist providing forensic psychological services in Wyoming, Idaho, and beyond. Dr. Nelson is also recognized by the National Register of Health Service Psychologist, is a member of PSYPACT allowing for interstate practice in PSYPACT member states.

Maintaining a continuous practice in Jackson since 1995, Dr. Nelson has provided an array of psychological services, including psychotherapy, psychological testing, and consultation. As of 2018, however, Dr. Nelson's primary area of practice has been forensic psychology, encompassing consultations with attorneys and courts, evaluations for competency to stand trial, mental state at the time of offense, and risk assessment, as well as independent psychological evaluations for personal injury cases and military forensic psychology. Dr. Nelson also provides psychosexual evaluations and mitigation reports to be used in criminal sentencing.

With over 35 years of experience working with a variety of client populations, including children, adolescents, individual adults, couples, and families, Dr. Nelson has been qualified as a forensic psychological expert in various jurisdictions across the United States, as well as for the military judicial system.

Dr. Nelson's practice is currently dedicated to the provision of quality forensic psychological services to clients and the legal system.
